Our Team
Two advisors. Four decades. One promise.
When you call our office, you talk to us. When you plan, you plan with the person who manages your strategy. Personal attention and individual strategies for each client. Not a cookie cutter approach.
You're not a number here.
Two advisors, one practice, and clients who stay for decades. Call either of us directly.
Sandy Dorson
Everyone lies awake sometimes, doing math in the dark. Am I saving enough? What if one of us gets sick? Will I ever actually get to retire? Sandy has spent 17 years taking those 2 AM questions and turning them into a plan you can hold in your hands and actually understand.
Her clients don't get a call center or a newsletter written by nobody. They get Sandy. Her cell number, her straight answers, her steady voice when the market gets loud. Call her direct line and she answers.
Brian Pulliam
Money is never just money. It's the house with the porch. The first semester of college. The year you finally stop setting an alarm. Brian learned that sitting across the table from mid-Missouri families for 26 years, through good markets, scary ones, and everything life did in between.
The families he started with are still with him. Ask them why and you'll hear the same thing: he tells the truth, he explains it in plain English, and ten years later, he's still the one who picks up the phone.

A practice built on relationships.
Neither of us got into this work for the spreadsheets. We got into it because money decisions are life decisions, and most people are handed both without a guide. Without someone who will sit down, explain things honestly, and stay.
More than four decades of combined experience later, that's still the whole job. Show up. Tell the truth. Do the work. The families who trusted us years ago still call the same two numbers today, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Come meet usHow we work, and how we're paid.
You should know exactly how the person managing your money is paid. Neither of us wrote this for a brochure. These are their words.
Sandy Dorson Investment Advisor Representative"My job isn't to predict what the market will do next. It's to build and manage an investment strategy designed around your financial plan and long-term goals."
"I have a fiduciary responsibility to act in your best interest when providing investment advice. That means putting your interests first and providing advice based on your goals, circumstances, and financial needs."
"I don't charge commissions or transaction fees for investment trades. Instead, clients pay an ongoing management fee based on the assets I manage for them. My compensation is tied to providing ongoing investment management and advice, not to how often you buy or sell investments."
Brian Pulliam Investment Advisor Representative"As an Investment Adviser Representative, I have the legal and ethical obligation to act solely in your best interest."
"This means ensuring you understand the services we provide, helping you assess which services are best for your individual situation, the costs/fees associated with those services, and discussing the responsibilities you and I both have in our Client/Advisor relationship."
"What a Client pays depends on the extent of the services provided, such as whether it is a one-time financial plan, ongoing advice, or consulting with a fee for service."
Both advisors provide Form ADV, which sets out payment options in writing before you commit to anything.
Things people ask us.
The honest answers, before you ever pick up the phone.
Ask us anythingWhich of you should I call first?
Either of us. Call whoever you feel like talking to. We work as one practice, and you'll get to know both of us anyway.
Can we just meet once before I decide anything?
Yes. That's how it always starts. One conversation, no cost, no paperwork, no commitment. You decide if it feels right.
Do you only work with people in Columbia?
Columbia is home, but clients who moved away stayed with us. Between the two of us we're registered to conduct securities business in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, and Texas.
I'm not great with financial terms. Is that a problem?
It's the whole reason we work the way we do. Plain English, every time. If something we say doesn't make sense, that's on us, not you.
How long have you actually been doing this?
Brian for 26 years, Sandy for 17. More than four decades combined, all of it spent sitting with real families, not behind a trading desk.
How can I check you out first?
Please do. Every advisor's background is public on FINRA's free BrokerCheck. We think the good ones invite you to look.
Start with a conversation.
By phone or in our Columbia office, your choice. We'll talk about where you are and where you want to go. No cost, no obligation.
