Insurance & Protection
Insurance & Protection
You've spent years building what you have. Protection planning makes sure one bad day can't take it apart, for you or for the people who count on you.
Protection planning means asking what would break if life went sideways, and making sure it doesn't.
Strip away the fine print and insurance is a simple idea: you pay a little every month so that if the bad day comes, your family gets what they need to keep going. The mortgage still gets paid. The kids still go to school. Nobody has to sell the house in a hard year. The industry has buried that simple idea under products, riders, and jargon, but underneath it all, that's what you're buying: certainty for the people you love.
Our job is to bring it back to the simple version. We start with what you're actually protecting: the people who depend on your income, the home, maybe a business. Then we size coverage to what they would truly need, review anything you already have, and point out both kinds of problems: the gaps that would hurt you, and the coverage you might be overpaying for.
The words, translated.
Insurance may be the worst jargon offender of them all. Six terms get you through almost any conversation.
Premium
What you pay, usually monthly or yearly, to keep your coverage active. Stop paying and the protection stops. That's the whole deal.
Term life
Life insurance for a set window of time, often 20 or 30 years, usually while the kids are home and the mortgage is big. The simplest kind, and typically the most affordable.
Whole life
Coverage designed to last your whole life, with a savings-like cash value component built in. It costs more than term, and whether it's worth it depends entirely on your situation.
Death benefit
The money your loved ones receive. Sizing it is the real work: enough to replace your income and cover what matters, not a number pulled from fear.
Beneficiary
The person who receives the benefit. The classic mistake: forgetting to update it after a marriage, a divorce, or a birth. We check yours every review.
Disability insurance
Replaces part of your income if illness or injury keeps you from working. Your income funds everything else in your plan, which makes this the most overlooked protection there is.

Coverage that fits your life, not a sales pitch.
We don't start with products. We start with arithmetic: if your income stopped tomorrow, what would your family need to stay in the house, keep the kids on track, and breathe? That number, not fear, decides the coverage.
Already have policies? Bring them. We'll translate the fine print, find the gaps that matter, and just as happily tell you where you're covered fine or paying for more than you need. Sometimes the best advice is "leave it alone."

What matters
Who depends on you, what has to keep running without you, and what's already in place. The conversation starts with your people, not with products.
The right size
Coverage matched to what your family would actually need and what your budget can carry. Not more, not less. You'll see the arithmetic behind every number.
Reviewed as life changes
A marriage, a baby, a house, a business. Each one changes what needs protecting. We review coverage and beneficiaries with you so it always matches your real life.
One honest note: insurance guarantees are based on the claims-paying ability of the issuing company, and insurance is one piece of a bigger plan, not the whole thing. We look at protection alongside your investments and goals, so everything you're building points the same direction.
The questions people are almost embarrassed to ask.
Don't be. These are the right questions.
Ask us anythingDo I actually need life insurance?
Simple test: would anyone be hurt financially if you were gone? A spouse, kids, a parent you support, a business partner. If yes, probably. If no one depends on your income, maybe not yet, and we'll tell you that to your face rather than sell you something.
How much coverage do I need?
It's arithmetic, not a guess: the income your family would need to replace, the mortgage, the debts, the education you want funded. We add it up together and the number falls out. No fear math, no round numbers pulled from ads.
Term or whole life: which is better?
Neither, universally. Term buys the most protection per dollar during the years you need it most. Permanent coverage costs more and fits specific situations. Anyone who answers this question before learning about your life is selling, not advising.
I have insurance through work. Isn't that enough?
It's a good start, and it's usually smaller than people think, often just a year or two of salary. And it typically ends when the job does. Worth a review before you count on it as the whole plan.
What about my income? What if I can't work?
That's disability insurance, and it's the protection people skip most. Everything in your plan runs on your paycheck. If illness or injury interrupted it, disability coverage keeps the plan alive while you recover. We'll look at what you have through work and whether it's enough.
Are you going to push a big policy on me?
No. We review what you have first, show you the arithmetic, and sometimes the honest answer is "you're in good shape" or "you're paying for more than you need." Protection is part of your plan, not a commission target.
